Taayi chomokito mon chokito srabon,

Trishit aakul aankhi.

Chanchal hoye ghure berayi

Sada mone hoy jodi dekha paayi

'Ke ashichhe' bole chakiya jayi

Kanone dakile pakhi.

Jagorone taare na dekhite paayi

Thaki swapon'ero aas'e

Ghum'er arale jodi dhora deye

Bandhibo swapon'er pashe

Eto bhalobashi eto jaare chayi

দিবসরজনী আমি যেন কার 

আশায় আশায় থাকি। 

তাই চমকিত মন, চকিত শ্রবণ, 

তৃষিত আকূল আঁখি।। 

চঞ্চল হয়ে ঘুরিয়ে বেড়াই, 

সদা মনে হয় যদি দেখা পাই, 

'কে আসিছে' বলে চমকিয়ে যাই 

কাননে ডাকিলে পাখি।। 

জাগরণে তারে না দেখিতে পাই, 

থাকি স্বপনের আশে- 

ঘুমের আড়ালে যদি ধরা দেয় 

বাঁধিব স্বপনপাশে। 

এত ভালোবাসি এত যারে চাই 

মনে হয় না তো সে যে কাছে নাই, 

যেন এ বাসনা ব্যাকুল আবেগে 

তাহারে আনিবে ডাকি।।

Translation

UNDERSTANDING "THE ENDURANCE" IN ENGLISH 

All day and night I keep wake for whom with hope and trust. 

So ecstatic is my heart, startled is hearing, and vision thirst 

I wander eagerly, eternally hoping to catch a glimpse 

"Who comes," saying to myself, I startle, when in woods bird whistles. 

I don't see when awake so I hope for dreams to come 

If in guise of dreams I realize, then I shall bind with dream's arms. 

I love so much, I desire so much that I never feel the absence 

As if this deep & restless desire shall beckon to endear us.
