বিরহী কুহু-কেকা গাহিবে নীপ শাঁখে,
যমুনা নদী পাড়ে, শুনিবে কে যেন ডাকে।
বিজলী দীপশিখা খুঁজিবে তোমায় প্রিয়া,
দু'হাতে ঢেকো আঁখি, যদি গো জলে ভরে।

If in a monsoon night, you come to my echoes.
Outside storm blows, insight tears flows.
Forget my memories, like dark nightmares.
The lei of your veil, let it drop on roads.
As stormy eastern winds blows in some faraway woods.
You stare outsides seated alone on a window.
The lovelorn cuckoo and peacock croons from a twig.
The river Jamuna listens from its shores as it flows.
