Tute huey khwaabo ne, hamko ye sikhaayaa hai 
Dil ne jise paayaa thaa, aankho ne gawanyaa hai 

Ham dhhundhate hai unko, jo milke nahi milte 
Ruthhe hai na jaane kyun, mehmaan wo mere dil ke 
Kya apni tamannaa thi, kya saamne aayaa hai 

Laut aaye sadaa meri, takraa ke sitaaro se 
Ujdi huyi duniyaa ke, sunsaan kinaaro se 
Par ab ye tadpnaa bhi, kuchh kaam na aayaa hai 

टूटे हुए ख़्वाबों ने हम को ये सिखाया हैं 
दिल ने जिसे पाया था, आँखों ने गवाया हैं 

हम ढूँढते हैं जिनको, जो मिल के नहीं मिलते 
रूठे हैं ना जाने क्यों, मेहमान वो मेरे दिल के 
क्या अपनी तमन्ना थी, क्या सामने आया हैं 

लौट आयी सदा मेरी, टकरा के सितारों से 
उजड़ी हुयी दुनियाँ के, सुनसान किनारों से 
पर अब ये तड़पना भी कुछ काम ना आया हैं

Translation

All my shattered dreams, have taught me few drills. 
All that, all that heart had found, eyes did lose and spilled. 

We search for them only, who're beyond reach yet they are near 
Don't know why is she brooding, the guest of my soul, O my dear 
What were my desires and what I did filled? 

After striking stars, returned echoes of my shrills 
Of my barren worlds, of my lonely twills. 
But even all these turmoils, could not add any frills.
