Chhinno paatar sajai toroni,eka eka kori khela-
Aanmona jeno dikbalikar bhashano megher bhela.
Jemon helay olosh chhonde kon kheyalir kon anonde
Shokale dhorano aamer mukul jhorano bikaalbela.
Je baatash neye phooler gondho,bhule jaay dinsheshe,
Taar haate diyi aamar chhondo, kotha jaay ke jaane shey.
Lokkhyobihin sroter dhaaray, jeno jeno mor shokole haaray,
Chirodin aami pother neshaay patheo korechi helaa.

ছিন্ন পাতার সাজাই তরণী, একা একা করি খেলা,
আন্মনা যেন দিক্বালিকার ভাসানো মেঘের ভেলা ॥
যেমন হেলায় অলস ছন্দে, কোন্ খেয়ালির কোন্ আনন্দে
সকালে-ধরানো আমের মুকুল ঝরানো বিকালবেলা ॥
যে বাতাস নেয় ফুলের গন্ধ, ভুলে যায় দিনশেষে,
তার হাতে দিই আমার ছন্দ; কোথা যায় কে জানে সে।
লক্ষ্যবিহীন স্রোতের ধারায়, জেনো জেনো মোর সকলই হারায়,
চিরদিন আমি পথের নেশায় পাথেয় করেছি হেলা ॥
Translation
With fallen leaves, my boat I adorn, alone in games I wonder.
Like a directionless child who, the boat of the clouds she rudder.
Like lazy rhymes at random, whims unknown, joys unknown.
Fills the mango buds at dawn, at dusk they wilt and wither.
The breeze absorbs the aroma of flowers, as the day ends, it disremembers.
In same hands my rhymes I offer; it is bound for, who knows where.
Riding on streams of no direction, I lose all that is mine.
Always in search of fortunes, fortunes I did squander.
