Eso sokhee, eso hetha, ekti koho go kotha
Bolo sokhee, kaar laagi paaiyachho monobyatha.
Bolo sokhee, mon tor aachhe bhor kaahar swapone.
হাসি কেন নাই ও নয়নে! ভ্রমিতেছ মলিন-আননে ।
দেখো, সখী, আঁখি তুলি ফুলগুলি ফুটেছে কাননে ॥
তোমারে মলিন দেখি ফুলেরা কাঁদিছে সখী
শুধাইছে বনলতা, কত কথা আকুল বচনে ॥
এসো সখী, এসো হেথা, একটি কহো গো কথা
বলো, সখী, কার লাগি পাইয়াছ মনোব্যথা ।
বলো, সখী, মন তোর আছে ভোর কাহার স্বপনে ॥
Translation
Why no smile in your eyes! Roaming with a sulky face.
Look up dear, flowers are blooming in the garden terrace.
By seeing you sad, the flowers wail.
The wild vines beseech you in their fervent spiel.
Come dear, come here, tell me for once;
For whom your heart pains.
Tell dear, for whom your heart is heavy; in whose dreams.
