Surer akashe tumi je go suktara 

Aamai korecho e ki chonchol, bihobol, dishahara. 

Arunachaler buke, tumi jagale diptomukhe, Maha tomoshaye aalor jhorna dhara. 

Naba chetonar rokto kamal dale, 

Agni bhramar digonte jaage raaginir parimal e, 

Michhe holo abhisaap, mor jiboner santaap, Koto rajanir ashru timire, bhengecho andhokara. 

সুরের আকাশে তুমি যে গো শুকতারা 

আমায় করেছো এ কি চঞ্চল, বিহ্বল, দিশাহারা। 

অরুনাচলের বুকে তুমি জাগালে দিপ্তমুখে মহা তমসায় আলোর ঝরনা ধারা 

নব চেতনার রক্তকমল দলে 

অগ্নিভ্রমর দিগন্তে জাগে রাগিনির পরিমলে, 

মিছে হলো অভিসাপ, মোর জীবনের সন্তাপ, কতো রজনীর অশ্রু তিমিরে ভেঙেছে অন্ধকারা

Translation

You are the morning star in the sky of melodies. 

You arouse in me strange sensation of restlessness, surprise and directionless. 

In the breast of sunrise you with glowing face arise, akin to streams of light in river of darkness. 

With renewed awakening a pink lotus inflorescence. 

Akin to blazing bees in horizon humming for fragrance. 

You denied my profanities, my life's adversities, with incessant tears you've washed the cataract of my blindness.

2> The poet was quite clear in his conception, " Aamar jibon abhisopto, Andhokar e achhonno, Tumi ete sur jagale, Seyi sure aami bihobol hoyi, aamar baari jhore, seyi asru te aamar abhisaap er santaap er dhowansha kaate."
