Esechile tobu asho naai janaaye gele
Samukher potho diye palataka chhaya fele.
Tomar se udasinata sottyo kina jani na se,
Chanchal charono gelo ghashe ghashe bedona mele.
Takhon pataay pataay bindu bindu jhare jal,
Shyamolo bonantobhumi kore chholochhol.
Tumi chole gechho dhire dhire sikto somire,
Pichhone nipobithikaya roudrachhaya jaya khele.
এসেছিলে তবু আস নাই জানায়ে গেলে
সমুখের পথ দিয়ে পলাতকা ছায়া ফেলে॥
তোমার সে উদাসীনতা সত্য কিনা জানি না সে,
চঞ্চল চরণ গেল ঘাসে ঘাসে বেদনা মেলে॥
তখন পাতায় পাতায় বিন্দু বিন্দু ঝরে জল,
শ্যামল বনান্তভূমি করে ছলোছল্।
তুমি চলে গেছ ধীরে ধীরে সিক্ত সমীরে,
পিছনে নীপবীথিকায় রৌদ্রছায়া যায় খেলে॥
Translation.
Did you come only to say you are not coming?
You entered from the front, fleeting shadows behind you're leaving!
Your calm mystic, was it ever authentic, I always keep guessing.
Your fleeting steps on grasses impressions of pain behind you're leaving.
Then from wet leaves drop by drop water was still dripping.
The verdurous woodlands with teardrops appeared glistening.
You went away quietly with your moist breeze so refreshing.
Mystic games of light and shade behind you are leaving.
