Sokol akash akul kore.
Seyi banir porosh lage, nobin praner bani jage,
Hothat dike digontore dhorar hridoy othhe bhore.
Se ke banshi bajiyechhilo kobe prothom soore taale,
Pranere daak diyechhilo sudur andhaar adikaale.
Taar banshir dhwanikhani aj ashaadh dilo aani,
Sei agochorer tore aamar hridoy nilo hore.
একি গভীর বাণী এল ঘন মেঘের আড়াল ধ'রে
সকল আকাশ আকুল ক'রে॥
সেই বাণীর পরশ লাগে, নবীন প্রাণের বাণী জাগে,
হঠাৎ দিকে দিগন্তরে ধরার হৃদয় ওঠে ভরে॥
সে কে বাঁশি বাজিয়েছিল কবে প্রথম সুরে তালে,
প্রাণেরে ডাক দিয়েছিল সুদূর আঁধার আদিকালে।
তার বাঁশির ধ্বনিখানি আজ আষাঢ় দিল আনি,
সেই অগোচরের তরে আমার হৃদয় নিল হ'রে॥
Translation
From behind dense clouds what deep prophecy echoes
Turning restless the entire skies.
The touch of that voice invokes a renewed strength in voice.
Suddenly in all directions-all horizons the heart fills with satiety.
Who did play the flute with the first rhythm and melody.
Who invoked life in far-dark infinity?
The echoes of his flute invited monsoon today
Unknown to me it filled my heart with ecstasies.
