Oi Mahamanob Ashe - Lyrics & Translation

Lyrics

Oi mahamanobo ashe
Dike dike romancha laage
Martyadhoolir ghashe ghashe

Suraloke beje othhe sankha,
Naraloke baaje jayadonko
Elo mahajonmer lagno
Aaji amaratrir durgatoran jato
Dhoolitale hoye gelo bhogno

Udayashikare jaage "mabhoi mabhoi"
Nabajeebaner ashwashe
Joyo joyo joyo re manobo abbhyudai
Mandri uthhilo mahakashe

Lyrics: Rabindranath Tagore
Raag: Bhairavi

Translation

There comes the great one.
Inciting thrill in every direction.
In every streak of grass of the land.

Conch-shells sound in heaven,
On earth victory drums start beating.
The moment of the great birth has begun.
The gates of moonless night-
Shatters to dust.

Rises on the eastern horizon the cries of "have no fear, have no fear"
Infusing a fresh vigor.
Hail hail hail O' human furor
Let the heavens shiver with your thunder.

P.S:Couple of years later in 1943 Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose ( Tagore called him Desh Nayak or the National hero ) lived this song when he conquered parts of India defeating British forces in battle and establishing self governance through Arzi Hukumat-e-Azad Hind (the Provisional Government of Free India).

Today, on 23rd January, 2015 at 3.33 pm IST, I dedicate this work to Netaji.
Thanks and regards to all.
