उठिये बस अब कि लज़्ज़त-ए-ख़्वाब-ए-सहर गई
उड़ती फिरे है ख़ाक मेरी कू-ए-यार में
बारे अब ऐ हवा, हवस-ए-बाल-ओ-पर गई
देखो तो दिल फ़रेबि-ए-अंदाज़-ए-नक़्श-ए-पा
मौज-ए-ख़िराम-ए-यार भी क्या गुल कतर गई
हर बुलहवस ने हुस्न परस्ती शिआर की
अब आबरू-ए-शेवा-ए-अहल-ए-नज़र गई
नज़्ज़ारे ने भी काम किया वाँ नक़ाब का
मस्ती से हर निगह तेरे रुख़ पर बिखर गई
फ़र्दा-ओ-दीं का तफ़रक़ा यक बार मिट गया
कल तुम गए कि हम पे क़यामत गुज़र गई
मारा ज़माने ने 'असदुल्लह ख़ाँ" तुम्हें

Translation
A glance pierced my heart and into the soul it is gone.
A single grace assuaged them both before it is gone.
The heart is torn as it is blessed with the taste of freedom.
The troubles of hiding the wounds of the heart is gone.
Where did the delights of intoxication of fine wine gone?
Wake up, for the delights of morning glories are now gone.
My ashes flies in the streets of my beloved.
The lusty breeze laden with her hairs is now gone.
Look at the style of setting her footprints on ground.
With her gait shamed is the rose and its grace is gone.
It is natural for the slave of lusts to appreciate beauty.
Even the dignity of the espying the ladies is now gone.
But the glow of your face does the job of the veil well.
As they fall on your face, in drunken stupor they are gone.
Suddenly the difference between yesterday and tomorrow is gone.
Yesterday you were gone and through me tortures of rebirths are gone.

একটি নজর হৃদয় হয়ে আত্মায়ে ঢুকে গেল
একসাথে দুটোকেই শান্ত করে দিয়ে গেল।।
হৃদয় আমার হল উন্মুক্ত মুক্তির উল্লাসে
ক্ষত চিহ্ন লুকাবার কষ্ট চলে গেল।।
মদিরার নেশা সব কোথায় গেল?
ওঠ, ভোরের স্বপ্নের আনন্দ শেষ হয়ে গেল।।
আমার ছাই আমার প্রেমিকার পাড়ায়ে উড়ছিলো
সেই মাদক হাওয়া তার চুলের সুবাসের উড়ে গেল।
বলিহারি তার পদচিহ্ন ফেলার হাঁটন-শৈ্লী,
লজ্জায় মুখ লুকিয়ে গোলাপ গুলি ঝরে গেল।।
লালসার দাসেরা সৌন্দর্যয়ের গুণকীর্তন করবেই-
তবুও সুন্দরকে দেখার আভিজাত্য হারিয়ে গেল।।
তোমার মুখের দীপ্তি আড়ালের ভাল কাজ করে-
যে নজর পড়ে তোমার মুখে, মাদক নেশায়ে সে কোথায় পড়ে গেল!
গতকাল আর আগামীকালের তফাৎ টা হঠাৎই উবে গেল।
কাল তুমি গেলে চলে আর জন্মজন্মান্তরের পীড়ন আমার মধ্য ঢুকে গেল।।
