Chalte Chalte Ruk Jaane Ki Aadat Si Ho Gayi Hai 

Hum Ko Ye Bhi Yaad Nahi, Kya Khoya Hai Kya Paaya Hai, 

Logon Se Dhoka Khhane Ki Aadat Si Ho Gayi Hai 

Jab Dil Par Koyi Zakhm Laga, Khaamosh Rahe Yaa Hasne Lage, 

Hum Ko Aansoon Pee Jaane Ki Aadat Si Ho Gayi Hai 

Apni Tho Ye Aadat Hai, Chup Rahte Hai, Yaa Sach Kehte Hai 

Shaayad Isi Liyee Duniya Wale Humse Hamesha Khafa Rahte Hai 

बीती बातें दोहराने की आदत सी हो गयी है, 

चलते चलते रुक जाने की आदत सी हो गयी है 

हम को ये भी याद नही, क्या खोया है क्या पाया है, 

लोगों से धोका खाने की आदत सी हो गयी है 

जब दिल पर कोई ज़ख़्म लगा, खामोश रहे या हंसने लगे, 

हम को आँसू पी जाने की आदत सी हो गयी है 

अपनी तो ये आदत है, चुप रहते है, या सच कहते है 

शायद इसीलिए दुनिया वाले हमसे हमेशा खफा रहते है 

Translation

To recall days bygone is now a practice. 

To pause while moving is now a practice. 

I do not even remember what I lost and what I gained! 

To be cheated by people is now a practice. 

When a wound is inflicted on my heart, I either kept quiet or I smiled! 

To sip my own tears is now a practice. 

It is my style to keep quiet or to utter truth! 

Maybe it is for this with me are displeased all men of societies.

Translation

পুরনো কথা বার বার মনে করার অভ্যাস মতন হয়ে গেছে। 

চলতে চলতে থেমে যাওয়ার অভ্যাস মতন হয়ে গেছে।। 

আমার এও মনে নেই, কি হারালাম কি পেলাম! 

লোকেদের থেকে প্রতারিত হওয়ার অভ্যাস মতন হয়ে গেছে।। 

যখনি মনে কোনও আঘাত লেগেছে, চুপ থেকেছি অথবা হেঁসেছি! 

আমার অশ্রু পান করার অভ্যাস মতন হয়ে গেছে।। 

আমার প্রকৃতি হলো যে চুপ থাকি অথবা সত্য কই। 

বোধায়ে এই জন্য দুনিয়ার মানুষ আমার প্রতি একটু অসন্তুষ্ট হয়ে আছে।।

Je raate mor duarguli bhanglo jhore 

Jaani naai to tumi ele aamar ghore 

Sob je hoye gelo kaalo. Nibhe gelo dwiper aalo 

Akash paane haat baralem kahaar tore 

Andhokaare roinu pore swapon maani 

Jhor je tomaar jayodhwaja taai ki jaani 

Sakalbela cheye dekhi daNriye achho tumi e ki 

Ghor bhora mor shunyotaari buker pore 

যে রাতে মোর দুয়ারগুলি ভাঙল ঝড়ে 

জানি নাই তো তুমি এলে আমার ঘরে ॥ 

সব যে হয়ে গেল কালো, নিবে গেল দীপের আলো, 

আকাশ-পানে হাত বাড়ালেম কাহার তরে?। 

অন্ধকারে রইনু পড়ে স্বপন মানি। 

ঝড় যে তোমার জয়ধ্বজা তাই কি জানি! 

সকালবেলা চেয়ে দেখি, দাঁড়িয়ে আছ তুমি এ কি, 

ঘর-ভরা মোর শূন্যতারই বুকের 'পরে ॥

Translation 

That night when the storm shattered my shutter 

I know not as in my cell you enter 

All turned dark & the lamps extinguished 

To hold whom did my arms I stretched. 

As I lay in dark,thought it was nightmare 

I knew not that storm was your victory's gesture 

At dawn I saw standing thou art 

Voidness of the cell filled my heart

Shiuliguli bhoye molin Boner kole 

Aamloki daal saajlo kaangal, Khoshiye dilo pallobjaal 

Kaasher haasi hayoai bhasi Jay je chole 

Soibe na se paatai ghase Chancholata 

Tai to aapon rong ghuchalo Jhumkolata 

Uttorbai janai shason, Pato toper shusko aashon 

Saaj khosabar ei lila kaar attorole 

শীতের বনে কোন্ সে কঠিন আসবে ব'লে 

শিউলিগুলি ভয়ে মলিন বনের কোলে॥ 

আম্লকি-ডাল সাজল কাঙাল,খসিয়ে দিল পল্লবজাল, 

কাশের হাসি হাওয়ায় ভাসি যায় সে চলে॥ 

সইবে না সে পাতায় ঘাসে চঞ্চলতা 

তাই তো আপন রঙ ঘুচালো ঝুম্কোলতা। 

উত্তরবায় জানায় শাসন, পাতল তপের শুষ্ক আসন, 

সাজ-খসাবার হায় এই লীলা কার অট্টরোলে॥ 

Translation 

Fearing oncoming severity of winter - 

In lap of forests fading night-Jasmines shiver. 

Twigs of gooseberries appear bereft, as they shed their web of leaves. 

Fades away in breeze wild sugarcane's laughter 

The green can't brave the harsh weather. 

So Blue Passion Flowers stripped its color. 

The northern winds declare its conquer-spreading its arid seat of honor. 

This game of defacing nature is at whose order!
