ये कैसी मोहब्बत कहाँ के फ़साने। 

ये पीने पिलाने के सब है बहाने।। 

वो दामन हो उनका के सुनसान सेहरा। 

बस हमको तो आख़िर हैं आंसू बहाने।। 

ये किसने मुझे मस्त नज़रों से देखा। 

लगे ख़ुद-ब-ख़ुद ही कदम लड़खडाने।। 

चलो तुम भी ‘गुमनाम’ अब मैकदे में। 

तुम्हे दफन करने हैं कई गम पुराने।।

Translation

আমায় কে মাতাল দৃষ্টি দিয়ে তাকালো 

আমার পা আপনি টালমাটাল হয়ে গেলো।। 

চলো "গুমনাম" তুমিও মদিরালয়তে 

তোমায় কবর দিতে হবে বহু দুঃখ পুরানা।।

Gaane gaane genthe beraai praner kanna haashi 

Ekhon samay hoyechhe ki? Sabhay giye tomay dekhi 

Jayadhwani shuniye jaabo e mor nibedan 

জগতে আনন্দযজ্ঞে আমার নিমন্ত্রণ। 

ধন্য হল, ধন্য হল মানবজীবন॥ 

নয়ন আমার রূপের পুরে; সাধ মিটায়ে বেড়ায় ঘুরে, 

শ্রবণ আমার গভীর সুরে হয়েছে মগন॥ 

তোমার যজ্ঞে দিয়েছ ভার, বাজাই আমি বাঁশি 

গানে গানে গেঁথে বেড়াই প্রাণের কান্না হাসি। 

এখন সময় হয়েছে কি ? সভায় গিয়ে তোমায় দেখি’ 

জয়ধ্বনি শুনিয়ে যাব এ মোর নিবেদন॥ 

Translation. 

In world's joyous ceremonies I too was invited. 

Thank you, thank you, my mortal life is delighted. 

In the world so magnificent, my eyes roam to heart's content. 

My ears in deep melodies remain excited. 

In these celebrations, I am given a certain task. 

In songs, sobs and smiles I weave as I fill my soul's cask. 

Did my time come at last; To meet you in your blast?

Songs of triumph may I raise, my petition is sited.

On every flower you leave your trace, in the end you just erase. 

O' the restless, even before the day ends why ends your plays. 

The tears of the startled eyes you touch to wipe away the pains. 

Even in some distant place where the road ends, people ask about your grace. 

The melody of your flute incite blooming but after blooming you're not seen. 
When your time passes away, I weaved garland in futile-alone and waiting . 

Welcome, come please cries eyes in tears, in thirsty bosom I'll hide you always. 

As you depart my friend, do leave your trace, if to remain in heart are not your wishes.
