Chhed ke aansuon kaa raag
Aankh zaraa lagi teri, saaraa jahaan so gayaa
Ye zameen so gayi, aasmaan so gayaa
So gayaa pyaar kaa suhaagh
Kisko sunaaun daastaan, kisko dikhaaun dil ke daag
Jaaun kahaan ke door tak, jaltaa nahin koyi chiraag
Raakh ban chuki hai aag,
Aisi chali hawaa-e-gam, aisaa badal gayaa samaa
Rooth ke mujh se chal diye, meri khushi ke kaarwaan
Das rahe hain gam ke naag

छेड़ के आसूओं का राग
आँख जरा लगी तेरी, सारा जहान सो गया
ये जमीन सो गयी, आसमान सो गया
सो गया प्यार का सुहाग
किसको सुनाऊ दास्तान, किस को दिखाऊ दिल के दाग
जाऊ कहा के दूर तक, जलता नहीं कोई चराग़
राख बन चूकी हैं आग
ऐसी चली हवा-ए-गम, ऐसा बदल गया समा
रूठ के मुझ से चल दिये, मेरी खुशी के कारवाँ
ड़स रहे हैं गम के नाग
Translation
Arise pangs of love arise, make my heart restless
With tunes of tears you arise.
As yours eyes drooped, my world too went to sleep
The earth went to sleep, the skies too went to sleep
So slept my feel of alliance.
To whom I shall tell my tale, to whom I show my soul's scars
Where to go I know not, no lamp glows to guide
Fires are now charred to ashes
So blew the breeze of pains, and changed all my spheres
Sulked and turned their back to me, the caravan of my joys
Stings me now the snakes of pains.
