দেখো ওই ঝিলিমিলি চাঁদ সারারাত আকাশে সলমা-জরি ! 

জাফরানি ওই আলতা ঠোঁটে, মিষ্টি হাসির গোলাপ ফোটে, 
মনে হয় বাতাসেরঐ দিলরুবাতে সুর মিলিয়ে আলাপ ধরি!! 

এই রূপসী রাত আর ঐ রূপালী চাঁদ বলে, জেগে থাকো- 
এ লগন আর কখনো ফিরে পাবে নাকো। 

মখমলের ঐ সুজনি ঘাসে, বসলে না হয় একটু পাশে, 
মনেহয় মহুয়ার আতর মেখে তোমার কোলে ঘুমিয়ে পড়ি !!

Translation

Come let's drench in this wax soft moonlight while we chat. 
See that glittering moon for whole night is weaving silvery brocade. 

On that saffron colored lips, a sweet smile glows. 
I feel to strain in harmony with music of airflows. 

For sake of this beauteous night and silvery moon awake you remain . 
This is the moment that may never come again.

On this silky smooth grass, come sit by my side. 
I feel like to apply Madhuca's cologne and sleep on your lap.

Ei je eto aalo haashi kokhono aage jageni. 
Nijere to aar kono din emon kore bhalo lageni 
Ogo poran kobi mor aaj haate banshi tule nao 
Utsober e logon soore soore dao bhore dao. 
Aaj chokhe chokhe cheye sara raat, Hobe sudhu aakasher taara gona ki?

মাধবী মধুপে হলো মিতালী 
এই বুঝি জীবনের মধু গীতালী। 
জলে দেখি জোনাকী মন হলো আনমনা কী।। 

তাই কি বাতাস ফুলের গন্ধে ভরানো ? 
তাই কি নয়ন মধুর স্বপ্নে জড়ানো ? 
যদি চুপি চুপি কথা বলে মন, সেই কথা বলো কভু যায় শোনা কী।। 

এই যে এতো আলো-হাসি কখনো আগে জাগেনি 
নিজেরে তো আর কোনোদিন এমন করে ভালো লাগেনি। 
ওগো পরানের কবি মোর আজ হাতে বাঁশী তুলে নাও 
উৎসব এ লগন সুরে সুরে দাও ভরে দাও। 
আজ চোখে চোখে চেয়ে সারারাত হবে শুধু আকাশের তারা গোনা কী।।
