Parbe ki bashte valo amake janle

খোঁপার ওই গোলাপ দিয়ে মনটা কেন এত কাছে আনলে? 

পারবে কি বাসতে ভাল আমাকে জানলে? 

আমাকে তেমন করে জানলে! 

যেখানে শুধুই আল‍ো,যেখানে শুধুই ভালো, 

আমি যে মন্দ করি সবই তা, 

লিখো না আমায় নিয়ে কবিতা! 

স্বপ্নের হাতটি ধরে নাইবা আমায় টানলে।। 

এখানে জীবন আমার ফুল নয় শুধুই কাঁটার 

স্বর্গের দেবী তুমি এসো ন‍া, 

মাটিতে কোমল চরণ রেখো না। 

ক্ষতি কি তোমার বলো এই অনুরোধ মানলে।।

Translation

With rose of your chignon, why did you draw your heart near to me? 

Will you be able to love me after knowing me? 

After knowing me thoroughly! 

Where there is luminosity, where there is generosity. 

Whatever I do is indecency! 

So do not pen any rhyme in my glory. 

May you not with arms of dreams beckon me. 

Here my life is not flowery but thorny. 

Goddess of heavens do not come here please. 

Your soft lotus feet do not place on these realty.

May the heart not despair 

In face of a mere failure 

May be long is dusk of grief 

But it is yet another eleventh hour 

This journey is too tedious dear.

This night of agonies is about to end 

The darkness of woes are about to melt 

There is any delay in this if ever
