সে সুধাবচন, সে সুখপরশ, অঙ্গে বাজিছে বাঁশি।
তাই শুনিয়া শুনিয়া আপনার মনে হৃদয় হয় উদাসী
কেন না জানি॥
ওগো, বাতাসে কী কথা ভেসে চলে আসে, আকাশে কী মুখ জাগে।
ওগো, বনমর্মরে নদীনির্ঝরে কী মধুর সুর লাগে।
ফুলের গন্ধ বন্ধুর মতো জড়ায়ে ধরিছে গলে
আমি এ কথা, এ ব্যথা, সুখব্যাকুলতা কাহার চরণতলে
দিব নিছনি॥
Translation.
My mind deters
As day-night fetters.
What remembrances overwhelms my body with happiness.
What reveries overwhelms my mind, tears outflow my eyes.
O' my dear lover.
Words-delicious, touch-luscious, wavers my body in flute's melodies.
Hearing them over and over I feel my heart is filled with unknown blitheness.
Why-I wonder.
O'dear! What words come drifting in airs, whose face is revealed in the azures!
O'dear! woods when murmur, streams when shower, what sweet melodies evolves.
Fragrance of flowers embrace me like friend forever.
My these mentions, these pains, pleasures, anxiousness, at whose feet-
Shall I proffer.
